Operations

The Operations Division of Chelan County Fire District #3 has the primary goal of meeting the mission of protecting our citizens by responding to calls for service within the community and beyond. Most of these calls for service are for true emergencies such as a structure fire, medical emergency, vehicle accident, hazardous material incident, and many other life threatening situations. We also respond to many other less serious situations where we can help make a difference. Our people take great pride in making a positive difference in our community and helping our citizens during their time of need.

We accomplish this by deploying highly skilled and passionate Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians that are both full time employees and volunteers. Understanding that time is often the difference between life and death, our goal is to reach any of our customers within 6 ½ minutes in our urban area and within 10 minutes in our rural area, 90% of the time. Time is calculated from the time you dial 911. We respond to our calls for service in a variety of vehicles, including traditional fire engines, a ladder truck, medically equipped wildland units, and a combination of other specialized equipment.

We take great pride in our people, our equipment, and our organization, and how we can use all three to serve our community. We would love to have the chance to be able to share that passion with you. Please feel free to engage any of our fire crews working in the community, or give us a call to schedule a ride-along or a fire station tour.
