Fire season is upon us! You can help Fire District 3 prepare for fires threatening our community by: • Volunteering to provide support services for firefighters including food preparation and support for their families so they can maintain focus on the emergency at hand.• If you are a paid firefighter with another jurisdiction living in District 3, join us as a Reserve Firefighter. Different than our regular volunteer firefighters, we’re looking for help from current professional firefighters to help us out during major emergencies and disasters.• Donate to help pay for the cost of personal protective equipment for our Reserve Firefighters. CCFD#3 is proud to announce the completion of our newest apparatus. With this new apparatus going into service, the previous Rescue (a KME type 3 brush truck) remains in service as our first out wildland apparatus. Rescue 31 was placed in service around a week ago. A collaborative effort between our district mechanic, Capt. Marcus Wells, along with Career and Volunteer member labor helped bring the project together. A custom-built apparatus can cost upwards of $250,000. With the use of in-house expertise and fabrication, we were able to build this apparatus for around half that cost. In addition to saving money, the attention to detail and Capt. Wells' extensive automotive experience ensures us a quality build. See some in-progress photos below, along with the finished build. We are particularly proud of the custom fitted extrication tool mounts, fabricated and welded by Firefighter Simon Keyser (with help from his fabricators, Lt. Parrish and Capt. Tibbetts). ...
