CCFD#3 is proud to welcome the 2024-2025 Fire Science Cadet Class from Cascade High School. The cadet class consists of structural fire training during the 1st semester, then wildland training the second semester. Pictured are the cadets, along with instructors and teaching assistants. Capt. Madison Tibbetts is the lead instructor for structural firefighting, and Capt. Marcus Wells is the lead instructor for the wildland portion. Over the years, this program has produced numerous career Firefighters, as well as many Forest Service and DNR Wildland Firefighters. Cadets also have the ability to receive college credit for the classes. This CTE program is sponsored by Cascade School District #228. As of 9:00AM this morning, CCFD#3 is lifting the ban on recreational campfires in Fire District 3 (Including the City of Leavenworth).We are grateful for the cooperation of this community when we enact a ban. With the amount of rain weve received and forecasted humidity the next few days, the risk from responsible recreational campfires is very low.We are not out of fire season yet, and we may need to reenact the ban as conditions warrant. You can always check the current Fire danger and burn restrictions at: Chelanfd3.orgThis does not apply to the Plain and Lake Wenatchee area. Please visit LWFR.org for Fire restrictions in that area. DNR has updated their current IFPL level in our area to Level III: Partial Shutdown. These fire precaution levels apply to individuals or companies working on or adjacent to forest lands. Due to sustained high temperatures and low relative humidity, CCFD# 3 is banning ALL outdoor fires, Including recreational campfires effective today, 7/20/2024. The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest also banned all campfires, effective today as well. The Washington State DNR previously enacted a statewide ban on all outdoor fires on DNR protected lands (7/10/24).
