Chelan County Public Works will have the Leavenworth pit on East Leavenworth Rd open for residents to dispose of storm debris. Please see shared post for times. They also have a storm debris voucher program for those affected by the storms. There is more information here: www.co.chelan.wa.us/solid-waste-management/pages/flood-debris-disposal-programThe Leavenworth Day Pit opens back up Friday and Saturday to receive flood-damaged debris and woody debris from our recent windstorm. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the pit is at the corner of East Leavenworth and Icicle roads.Remember, you can bring up to 2 cubic yards to this site for dumping. If you have more, use the Dryden Transfer Station (DTS), which is also accepting the free voucher. If you are unable to hand-load your debris into the bins, please use the DTS as well (the tipping floor there is more convenient). This site takes brush from the Apple Maggot Quarantine Zone -- the DTS does not.More details on the free voucher program for people who suffered damages in the recent windstorm and flooding is on our website. You can also get a voucher there or fill one out at the day pit or DTS.www.co.chelan.wa.us/solid-waste-management/pages/flood-debris-disposal-program ... See MoreSee Less

All,We know with the recent storm, many of you have debris that you do not plan to burn and would like disposed of. With that in mind, we've retrieved our Chipper from winter storage and called up the summer chipping crew. Tomorrow and Friday we will be out chipping for folks. Due to demand, we will chip properties which are ok with the chips remaining on site first and then work on areas where transportation of the chips will be necessary. We are working Cascadia Conservation Districttrict, so you can get on the list by going here: cascadiacd.org/programs/roving-chipper-program/ You can also call us at Station 31 at (509) 548-7711 to get added to the list. We will continue working to process this storm debris as long as possible, or until it is gone. We just ask that you help us help you, by setting up the piles in an acceptable fashion so the crew can keep moving. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. ... CCFD#3, along with Wenatchee Valley Fire Department and Chelan Fire and Rescue responded to the Snohomish and Skagit County areas for water rescue support on Wednesday night. They have been busy assisting local resources with rescues. We are used to fire agencies responding to assist us with wildfire in the summer, so we are honored to reciprocate and assist them in their time of need. We want to recognize our members for their willingness to leave the comforts of home, in hopes they may be able to help those in need.FF/EMT/SRT Nathan RichmanFF/EMT/SRT Dan BurnsFF/EMT/SRT John SchmeilThe expansion of our swiftwater program in 2025 resulted in a total of 10 swiftwater rescue techs at CCFD3. This additional commitment to training allowed us to deploy these resources while still maintaining rescue techs here in Leavenworth. PC: Chelan Fire and Rescue ... See MoreSee Less
